BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February, 1970, [1]) is an American actor, producer, and singer , best recognized for her role as Melody "Mellie", Grant the character in ABC's drama Scandal (2012)-2018. In 2014, Critics' choice Television awarded her the Best Supporting Actress Award for a Drama Series. She also starred in the Fox show Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young's acting career started with theatre. Her Broadway debut came in 1997 as Mary in The Life. [8][9] She has also appeared Off-Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily We Roll Along (1994) and in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). In 1995, she made her TV debut as a regular in"The Other World," an NBC daytime soap drama Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. Both in 1997 and 1998 she guest starred in two roles on Law & Order. Her film debut was the year 1999 when she starred as part in"Black and White," a crime drama. Later, she appeared in other independent films. The actress began guest-starring in a variety of TV dramas and comedies in the 2000s. The shows include The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young was a part of more than 30 TV shows from 2000 and 2011.
