Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is American Canadian singer and songwriter. Her work has been released on over 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative, folk rock and pop, however she also draws influences of hip-hop and jazz. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement being one of the first musicians to launch her own record label in 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
