Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English performer and songwriter, was born in London on the 22nd of August 1995. She decided to sign to Warner Bros Records in 2014 after working as a model. The label dropped her debut album, self-titled in 2017. It peaked in at third place within the U.K. albums chart and included eight singles, which included her U.K. top-ten single New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Lipa has been awarded the Brit Awards in the year 2018 for British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough Act. Her album has been declared platinum in a variety of countries. Dua Lipa was birthed to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on the 22nd of August, 1995. Her mother is Bosnian. Her ancestors can also be traced back to Kosovo cities of Peja. Both of her grandparents were historians. Her sisters are Rina as well as Gjin. The father of Lipa, the musician and lead singer from the Kosovan band Oda has influenced her in music. She grew up listening to music with her dad at home, and included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at age five. She started singing at the Sylvia Young Theater School when she was just nine years of age. Lipa covered Beautiful by Christina Aguilera and If I'm Not Got You of Alicia Keys on YouTube. Her record deal signed with Warner Bros. Records was completed in the year 2014. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
